Logs & parses

Addons can't read the combat log on Forever, but the game still writes one to a file. Record it, then read it on a log site to review every pull, death and interrupt.

Record a log

  1. Esc → Options → System → Network: turn on Advanced Combat Logging. Log sites need it.
  2. Before the first pull, type /combatlog. The game confirms logging is on.
  3. Play the whole dungeon or raid, trash included.
  4. Type /combatlog again to stop, so the file is complete.
  5. Find WoWCombatLog in the Logs folder of your Forever install, next to Interface and WTF.

A boss you fought before turning logging on can't be recovered from the file.

Tips

IN GAME FIRST

For quick numbers, the built-in Damage Meter needs no file. See built-in tools.

KEEP FILES SMALL

The file keeps growing while logging is on. Stop logging after the run and delete old logs once uploaded.

Steps come from the log sites' own help pages. Menu names may differ in the launch client.
